The revolution that is taking place today—through 
TV—where the TV image comes from the outside 
into the interior intimate space of the American 
home, where formerly we had thought of ourselves 
as social and intimate and now we discover that the 
outside world is increasingly invading our sitting 
rooms and our personal lives. It is not that it is 
invading privacy. It is rather that it is invading the 
sociability.
